Professor Amy Greenwald of Brown University's Department of Computer Science (Brown CS), along with colleagues from Harvard University, the Computing Community Consortium, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and other organizations, have just returned from the successful Artificial Intelligence for Social Good conference, which they co-organized. Held in Washington, DC, the event discussed the successful deployments and the potential use of AI in various topics that are essential for social good, including but not limited to urban computing, health, environmental sustainability, and public welfare. Amy and the other organizers are presently engaged in preparing a report summarizing the workshop for use by the OSTP as they shape future technology policy.
